On building things that last

Why I'd rather build one solid thing than ship ten half-finished ones.

There's a certain satisfaction in finishing something properly. Not just shipping it — actually finishing it. The kind of finish where you look at the code two weeks later and it still makes sense.

I've been thinking about this more since starting to work on larger systems. The temptation to move fast is always there. But speed without care is just technical debt in disguise.

Quality is a habit, not a phase.
